Driftwood Bike was born out of a need for a more convenient and streamlined approach to bicycle repair. Why not eliminate the hassle of transporting your bike or E-bike back and forth to a shop when you can get quality, professional service right at your doorstep? Brick and mortar shops still have their merits, but they are not always necessary for everyone. A lot of people work from home or have multiple bikes to service. For many, the bike is their only mode of transportation, and hauling it to a shop is not an option. E-bikes are heavy, tend to be larger in size and generally difficult to transport, so mobile repair is an attractive alternative. People are always pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of mobile bike repair. When factoring the amount of time and effort saved, mobile repair can be a real value. WHAT I'M ABOUT
After years of mountain biking and city commuting out West, it was a trip to Amsterdam that ignited a deeper fascination with bicycles and their culture. I had always worked on my own equipment out of necessity, but I started working in a bike repair shop in order to immerse myself into the mechanics of this efficient mode of transport. I was passionate about learning the trade and spent long hours absorbing what I could. For many years now, I have been very much engaged in the bike world, wrenching in multiple bike shops while moving about the country, working support for multi-day tours, and visiting trade shows. Recently, I attained a level 4 certification from the Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA) in order to advance my understanding of the electrical systems that power E-bikes. I care about the work I do, and I go out of my way to make sure that things are done correctly, even if that means putting in the extra time. Jerrod.
